I noticed that the Soylent products sold in Canada contain trans fat (0.1 g per 414 mL). Such value in the U.S. is labeled as 0g. I am worried that the advertisement may be misleading.

    Maybe SOME customers think you can use these for 3 meals a day, but KaChava’s website specifically says only to replace ONE meal a day. It is for people who get too busy to cook sometimes and still want a healthy option.
    The only thing I wish is that it was more filling.

  6. 8:41 – I tend to avoid foods in supermarkets with an ingredient list that looks like a chemistry lab inventory. Highly processed junk! You have to be insane to live on this shit. A good natural diet is the best and if you are efficient you can make a good meal in hardly any time so stop being lazy and don’t live in this space food. It is probably mostly GM but of course they will not admit that.

  8. I hope we can make a world where no one has to work so much they can’t find time to eat, and no one is so resource poor that there aren’t healthy options for nourishing ourselves. Eating space food won’t make up for the damage working 40+ hours a week does on our physical, social, emotional, mental and spiritual health. That said, I respect y’all and your hustle and doing what we have to survive in this apocalyptic hellscape. I am personally looking for meal replacement options for a chronic gut illness, the medical options covered by insurance are either (a) loaded with industrial animal and big agro products or (b) prohibitively expensive. I ordered Huel to give it a try as it’s less than half the cost of my current medical meal replacement with similar specs.   9. So much half truth in the video. Calcification of soft tissue happens because of shortages of calcium, Vitamin K2 and other minerals like magnesium. That is the main reason why statins are so controversial is that they block vitamin k2 and cause atherosclerosis anyway.

  14. I started with Huel and switch to Kachava about 5 months ago. It tastes much better and makes me feel much better. It sits better with your stomach 100% and you can tell that it is better for you. I use it for a morning snack and it has helped me a lot in terms of energy and helped me stabilize emotional/mental state. I couldn’t recommend it enough for a quick and pretty healthy snack.

  16. I have my own decorating business. I had that much work on from June to December I think I took couple days off a month to recover. I tried to eat healthy but the pure dread of meal prep would put me off (suppose I was being a bit lazy). It was often too ea at to just nip to the chippy. Ppl couldn’t believe that I was putting weight on despite working sometimes 10-12 hours a day. Even tho I didn’t get fat I felt unhealthy. I think just that one meal replacement of heul would sort that out. Only when am busy I wouldn’t use it three times a day but one replacement would be good so I’m thinking off getting that.

    I have been using Huel for 4 months now and can tell you that it has made a big difference in my like. I can manage my macros simply and don’t have large kcal deficits and binges. I feel satiated always and have no urges. I also have been saving about 35% on my food bill and have zero food waste. It is good/whole food, when you look at the product its simply powdered versions of the food. Like when I made smoothies. They have a full line of food including Meals, Protein powder snacks and bars.

    I also travel alot and now always have a healthy option. No more best of bad choices when I am really hungry.

    When you sum up all the benefits, IMO, it’s a simple decision and makes a consistent/long tern based diet much more sustainable.

  18. I keep a bag of this stuff in the office for days I forget to grab my lunch. That bag at various times has been both Soylent and Huel. Of those two the Huel is both better tasting and more filling, but it also costs twice as much. I’m out right now and seriously considering getting Kachava, especially after watching this video. It is the most expensive of the three by quite a bit though.

  21. I drink huel powder for breakfast and the hot savoury meal for lunch. I think it’s great. I add super greens to both but in the evening eat meat. Saved me loads of money. Probably £400 per month.


  23. i tried a huel while i was shopping in Cambridge yesterday as it was the most appealing thing i could find at the train station for breakfast and i really enjoyed it but wanted to do more research on if it was good for me or not so thanks for the video. i also found another one that advertises as whole food they are called Purition and it dosent have refined oil in and uses stevia as a sweetener which is better than most but its a shame its still low calorie so i would definitely still pare this with some fruit or something like a banana.

  24. A chemical concoction like Soylent is never going to be as healthy as whole foods. So many “food” manufacturers have jumped on the bandwagon, targeting health-conscious consumers, while feeding them, yes, with chemicals and BS. There’s plenty of healthier alternatives – though so-called health stores often stock up mostly on the chemical concoction “health” bars and powders, because these are oh so profitable.

  25. Soylent doesn’t act as a whole diet replacement for me. I use it on days where I can’t tolerate solid food very well (thanks, gastroparesis). So it’s maybe MAYBE a once a day thing, more likely a couple of times a week. I’ve been meaning to try Huel. I’m the kind of person to mix supplements like this with bananas or other fruits/veggies in a shake (it probably doesn’t taste the best but it’s effective).

  29. A review like this is pretty damn stupid, when you consider the average western diet. Any of these meal replacements would be a massive improvement over a snickers bar, a bag of chips, or a cheeseburger. Health is relative. Take “reviews” like this with a massive grain of salt, because it speaks to a very small minority group, who are so obsessive about their diets that it might be borderline disordered to begin with.

  30. I use soylent on a daily basis and I love it! I work and go to school, and don’t have time to prepare a lunch without feeling extra stress. I don’t get home until almost 3a.m most nights… So I love soylent! It gives me nutrients and is plant based. It’s easy and I don’t have to think about it.

I don’t mean the type of fat person that has struggled with their weight occasionally or is only a few pounds overweight. But if you’re constantly battling with your weight, doing therapy to work out your shit, trying to control yourself around food, trying to eat right, and you’re STILL overweight after years and years, then I’m sorry but maybe this is all that you deserve.

  33. I’ve been eating Huel and chia seeds almost exclusively for weeks. My LDL was a bit elevated on my last blood panel; Instead of taking another supplement or a statin drug (I refuse), I chose to cut cholesterol from my diet entirely.
    I know from Mic’s channel, it only takes about six months to practically reverse the harm done by animal products.
