Soylent vs Ensure: What are the main differences?

If you’re looking for a meal replacement that can help you reach your nutrition and weight-loss goals, soylent and ensure are two of the most popular options on the market. Soylent is a plant-based meal replacement made from soy and other ingredients, while ensure is an all-in-one meal replacement that includes proteins, carbs, and healthy fats. Soylent has fewer calories than ensure, but it’s also lower in nutrients. The biggest difference between the two products is their flavors – soylent tastes more like food and ensure is tasteless or bland. Ultimately, the decision comes down to what you’re looking for in a meal replacement – nutrition vs flavor – and which one will work best for you. If you’re looking for a meal replacement that can help you reach your nutrition and weight-loss goals, soylent is a good option. If you’re looking for a meal replacement that has more flavor, ensure is a better option.

Soylent Vs Ensure: Which is better for you?

There are two popular meal replacement products on the market – Soylent and Ensure. They’re both good for different reasons, so it’s important to decide which is best for you. Soylent is cheaper than Ensure, but has a lower nutritional value. Ensure has more vitamins and minerals, plus supports better gut health and weight loss goals. If you’re looking for a high-quality meal replacement that’s also affordable, then go for Soylent. If you’re more focused on gut health and weight loss, then Ensure is the better choice.

Pros and Cons of Soylent vs Ensure

When it comes to meal replacements, Soylent and Ensure are two of the most popular options on the market. Both products are made with soy proteins and essential amino acids, and are designed to give you the energy you need without all the sugar highs and lows. However, there are some key differences between the two. Soylent is low in calories, so it may not be suitable for people who are looking to lose weight. Additionally, Ensure contains more calories than Soylent, so it can help people lose weight if they’re using it as a meal replacement instead of an entire diet plan. Overall, Soylent is a great option for people who want to avoid sugar highs and lows, while Ensure is a better choice for people who want to gain weight.

Final Thoughts on Soylent vs Ensure

When it comes to meal replacements, soylent and ensure are two of the most popular options on the market. However, they are quite different, so it’s important to choose the right one for you. soylent is designed as a vegan meal replacement, while ensure is not vegan or vegetarian-friendly. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses. For example, soylent is high in protein and calories, while ensure is low in calories and protein. Additionally, soylent is designed for people who want to lose weight, while ensure is not necessarily meant for weight loss. So, it’s important to test them out before making a decision. Sometimes people recommend using both in order to get the best of both worlds, but this is not necessary. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide which meal replacement is right for you.

Additionally, soy protein is included in the formula so that people can still get protein in their diet.

Which meal replacement is better for weight loss?

When it comes to weight loss, both meal replacement products are great options. Soylent is vegan and has lower calories at 330 calories per serving while Ensure is a more conventional carbohydrate-based meal replacement that provides 20 grams of essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and fiber per serving. Additionally, it has lower calories at 160 calories per serving. So, if you’re looking for a healthy meal replacement option that provides all the nutrients your body needs, either soy protein isolate or Ensure can be a good choice.

How can I tell if Ensure is right for me as a meal replacement?

If you’re looking for a meal replacement shake that can replace your regular meals, then you may want to consider Ensure. Ensure comes in a variety of flavors, like Chocolate and Vanilla. It is low calorie and high in protein, so it is ideal for those looking to lose weight or maintain their muscle mass. Some meal replacement shakes also come with healthy additives like fiber and vitamins so that you get the most out of your shake. However, it is still up for debate whether or not soy milk is actually good for you as a meal replacement shake.

What is better than Ensure?

  1. My Dad gave us all ensure for years, thinking it was healthy. About a year ago I explained to him how terrible it was for us. He handed his last ensures to me and said “here, pour them out…I can’t do it” (he loved them), and hasn’t bought any since. Proud of ya Pops!

  2. I tend to look at the ingredients list a lot when buying something if there is any thing on it that doesn’t sound right I put it back, and i do that for all products from dairy products onward. 🙂

  3. It’s PEOPLE!!!

One of the most powerful scenes of the film is when the guys are eating real food, even just lettuce, and are enjoying the simplicity of that. When Soylent came on the market I laughed so hard. Who would buy a product by that name?! 😂🤮

  4. I have literally had a ‘Huel’ advertisement at the start of every one of your videos for at least the last 2 months.
They’re really targeting their products to the wrong people.

  5. Ensure has about the same calories and sugar as one of those Starbucks’ frappacinos.

I never understood how or why someone would willingly choose to consume those drinks, they are nasty tasting and there’s better options for meal replacement shakes out there if one needs a liquid diet for some reason. But these Ensures are tiny so you end up seeing people drink multiple of them, so someone trying to lose weight is going to have a hard time since they will be drinking all their calories and not getting much nutrients at all.

  6. i can’t believe people drink that crap, i know a lot of older people just don’t look things up…and if you tell them how bad it is they look at you like “you’re not a doctor, how dare you!!!, ..my younger brother reads up on all this, then eats and drinks crap anyway, so frustrating…sad though, they’ll never watch your videos, people who usually know this already watch you and are grateful there is someone out there that wants to share this info…thanks Frank

  7. These nutrition powders are just like a fertilizer 😂 fertilizer for humans. What could go wrong ?

  8. When i fist quit veganism, i used to drink 2-3 per day xD
I couldn’t eat properly, my gut was so damaged…
It has been almost 4 years, but i still can’t stand the smell, now i can’t even try protein powder, haha everything chalky reminds me of ensure 🤢

  9. Where did nutrition science/advice go so wrong? How did it become so distorted? Is it just down to the poor quality of evidence (ie. observational)? Genuine questions

  10. Great video once again Frank! Some other popular protein drinks are the same junk! People so need to be educated on reading labels and knowing crap ingredients. Thank you for educating the masses!💜

  11. When I had braces a few years back My first day I considered Soylent green as a meal replacement because I got tired of getting all the food between braces but after I bought a water pik I ate whatever

  12. Dude I keep getting Huel ads in front of your videos lol. I let them play for the revenue but put them on mute.

  13. Frankie Can you make a video using your Grass fed protein powder using it as a substitute to make some cutletts or something. I have seen where people substitute flower for protein powder but they use eggs as a binder. Maybe a nice chicken fried steak would be nice.

  14. Your parents literally have a health expert as their son, I’m so surprised they don’t just ask you for advice on what to buy

  15. The hospice gave Ensure to my grandpa to consume when he was dying of pancreatic cancer. That was 9 years ago, and although I knew that stuff couldn’t be good, I never actually looked at the ingredients and I never knew that it was that bad. And Soylent was being sold in a small “health food” store that I used to go to in NYC. The name alone made me question it, because of the “Soylent Green” movie. I’m not sure how anybody can eat this crap. 🤢🤮

  16. So – milk, soy, sugar and seed oils? If Ensure-drinkers can handle milk, why not just take milk instead of this Frankenfood? The rest of us lactose-intolerant folks will steer clear of this in any case. Crazy that some food scientist was probably paid millions to come up with this stupid drink.

  17. Surely if i would not want people to know something i would let everyone make videos about it giving them the full list of ingredients to expose me better.

  18. They made my father drink this at the end stage of his pancreatic cancer…. guess it sped up his death… 😢

  19. Love your breakdowns of these unhealthy foods, always nice to be reminded of all the false health facts, should talk about better alternatives like your best bar high quality and minimal ingredients, just had one this morning. Love your content, keep up the great work!

  20. This ingredient list is the equivalent of poison, with the only difference being that it does not kill you straight away. The people who are responsible for all of this are just evil, period.

  21. Eating soylent green healthier? Eating vegans full of bone and PUFAs?! No. I’ll fast, thanks.

  22. Ensure was my most favorite drink as a kid, and too be honest, it was the healthiest thing i ever had regularly >.> untill i started following you 27 years later….

  23. I feel your frustration…its like warning your friend about the vax’s …spending hours giving them info and then finding out they went and got the vax😨😨

  24. A few weeks ago i mentioned some thing about girls being recruited to sell stuff, it turns out it was this movie https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7826276/ ad
I was wrong about it being a documentary, however this movie says its based off a true story? maybe worth a video? Cause it does coincide where they say a little truth and a lie to keep people in line and fighting each other. Sorry for wasting your time if its just BS, sorry i thought it was an actual documentary, i did see it in a youtube ad >.>

  25. The sheer madness how they sell products that ruin your health and market it as healthy! Unbelievable! And your parents Franky buy this crap? This is very sad!

  26. Ensure is what age care nurses gives out to old people who can’t eat properly or have dementia.

  27. What is good anymore? A bottled water company in my town is being sued because people developed liver damage, one lady died and several pets died, too😢

  28. My parents got my lungs x rayed when i was only like 7 years old because i was obese and having trouble going up the stairs in my school… I’ve come so far LOL

  29. some of my family replace their meals with ensure when “dieting” and wonder why they never lose weight lol

  30. Ok, YouTube deleted my comment. If you want to see a Soylent horror story, look at the case of Cosmo Wright. He switched to Soylent only diet in 2013… (And the rest is auto-censored by YT, look up a documentary on him)

  31. everywhere i visit on the internet i see huel ads ,its become really annoying 🤬 yeaa why would you eay real food, just buy some eatable powder

  32. Great video. This is something I wished everyone knew. Until you see why we have drinks like this, you can be lead astray into thinking its okay to drink if you’re healthy. I lost some family to cancer. Many survived to thankfully. I have had to care for 4 cancer patients over the past few years. Ensure should only be use in a health care setting, in case someone is not getting what they need from food. Like with cancer patients. I have seen it bring back cancer patients more than once. It is a necessity if you cant eat or even drink water because of nausea, or keep down fluids otherwise. It keeps nurses from having to do a PICC line and placing you on whats called a “bag lunch”. Which is a bag full of white cereal like substance. Its much worse than Ensure. PICCs and just needles in general come with a large amount of problems in and of itself. I have even seen Ensure bring someone back enough to eat solids again. The magnesium, potassium, salts, calcium, sugars… their needed. All of it is needed by the body for proper function when nothing else is getting in. There are cases to use it. Do NOT drink ensure unless a doctor has told you to. Do not use this to lose weight. Its not meant for long term dieting. Don’t drink electrolytes. It will only make you gain weight.

  33. My wife was put through chemo. When she lost her appetite they eventually put this in her feeding tube. 5yrs later she gained weight after eating my food and taking Frankie’s Organ Supplements. She birthed a very healthy baby

  34. One ENSURE turned my ass into a thruway! no men at work signs!!! By the end of the day, I felt like this:🧟‍♀️

  35. Never had it but it doesn’t even seem like it tastes that good? If you’re going to give into temptation and eat something high inflammatory it might as well be a piece of cake/muffin/donut from the grocery store

  36. Hospitals give that stuff to cancer patients who lose their appetites to help them gain weight. I overheard some nurses talking that one of them was consuming that stuff, thinking it was healthy, and all that happened was she gained weight. It’s not healthy stuff, it’s just marketed that way.

  37. Why did they name it Soylent after the movie?? Is this a joke, to see how dumb people actually are?? Should we become preppers before 2022??

  38. Hi Frank.
The movie, Soylent Green, is available to watch on Netflix now.
One problem ingredient is cellulose. It is literally sawdust, timber fibres. Like eating cardboard.
Another is corn dextrose. Dextrose is always a form of sugar. Glucose is a dextrose.

  39. I posted a nutritional digest of huel’s toxic crap when they were still new… They blocked me. 😀

  40. I was checking out the baby formulas at the supermarket and they are just as bad, one was soy based!!!! Baby would be much better off with just cows milk if mum couldn’t breast feed.

  41. I would drink ensure as a kid because “i didnt eat enough” so to make sure i would have added “nutrition” and calories my parents would give me it … shortly after drinking i would feel like my heart was working harder to pump all that crap out

  42. I had a girlfriend who’s mom was feeding this shit to her son and I tried to get them to drink raw milk

  43. When I drink Huel I get gassy and fart a lot. My buddy loves it though. He said it helped him lose a lot of weight and he stays in good shape.

  44. Wow. I’m most freaked out by that Soylent Green poster. Was the movie “predictive programming”? We are on the verge of the apocalypse in 2021 after all…

  45. You haven’t recognised what Ensure is for, adults who aren’t able to eat normal food. Personally milk and such would just as well. It’s not supposed to be used by everyone.

  46. We use ensure at the hospital for patients with severe dementia who often cannot eat. When someone gets to that stage you’re just thankful they’re taking in some calories.

I’ve used Huel daily for the last 6 months and it’s worked well for me. People forget it’s main use: for people who need fast convenient food without overspending or ending up getting takeaway. Huel works for me when I need a meal like that.

  47. Lmao what!? I’ve been on soylent for years and I didn’t get “tits”….not even pecs.

    This is so unfactual.

  48. Those companies are definitely using filtered water….what is this shock jockeying. Not to mention, ensure is known not to be good for a complete diet and is not marketed that way… seriously?

  49. Omg ok this channel is a joke. He definitely did not do his research, claiming nobody talked about Soylent green references … definitely didn’t research anything.

  50. Laboratory extracts are the same chemical that your body breaks things down into. It doesn’t damage your body. Your body processes these chemicals the same way no matter what.

And Soylent DOES use bio available nutrients. They literally took the time to study different forms and which ones make it so that others absorb even more efficiently.

There are tons of people living on this stuff solely and they have put their doctors reports and blood tests out there…and SURPRISE they are totally healthy?

  51. I drink Soylent…for years now. I kept drinking it because of how much weight I lost, how much more energy I had, how much healthier I felt.

This is all just personal opinions with nothing to back it up.

  52. If flax seed is bad for you, does that mean that eggs produced from chickens fed flax seed are unhealthy? Because that is how I plan to get my DHA/EPA.
Edit: I was considering eating brains, but I don’t want to get prions.

  53. Thank you so much for an honest review of these drinks. It’s so difficult to find one midst soulselling nutritionists

  54. Not sure how scientific your statements are, going to say this is not a good overall review and my BS sensor is going off.
